Allow 45 hours on each of the four modules to meet the course specification of 180 hours. The course can be completed in about 3-4 months if your study time is almost continuous. Maximum completion time is 18 months from enrolment. Completed observations for the accompanying Certificate in Teaching Observation, a short course included at no extra fee, must be submitted within 6 months of your last assignment submission for the Diploma.

The London Teacher Training College Diploma in TESOL is a comprehensive teaching qualification for teaching English as a second or foreign language and for those already teaching who wish to upgrade their knowledge and skills. These participants have gained this Diploma in TESOL and gone on into teaching in Britain, Australia, Singapore, China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Cambodia, Laos, Canada, East Africa, Russia, Mongolia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar and Indonesia. They are working in language schools, government schools, international schools, tuition centres, business schools, management training, bank training, developing country relief and development work, community programmes and some have started their own education projects.
TRAVEL AND TEACH!
1. Ideally a Bachelor Degree in any discipline but if you do not possess this, at least 5 passes at GCE O Level to include a pass in English;
OR equivalents in your own country;
OR other qualifications in English (for example, IELTS Band 6.5 / TOEFL 600).
London Teacher Training College has an inclusive approach, not wanting to bar those who have a passion to teach but who did not progress academically beyond school-leaving qualifications. At the same time, we have worked with trainees holding Certificates, Diplomas, Bachelor Degrees, Masters Degrees and PhDs in various disciplines; all have wanted to develop their ability to teach English as a second language, to understand and deal with the issues language learning.

COURSE STRUCTURE AND DELIVERY
There are four modules, each with two sections. Course notes and handouts will be sent to you online, in order from Module 1, Module 2, Module 3 and Module 4 as you progress through the course.
Please look at the sample of our Module 1 Section A Course Notes online and we hope you will agree that they provide an interesting and informative learning experience.
You will also access video recordings of teachers delivering lessons and you will be able to combine the theory of the approaches, methodologies and principles of language teaching learnt on the course with what you see in these videos. The videos are extremely useful and give you an appreciation of classroom management issues. Compiling a set of observations on the video recordings to a satisfactory standard will lead to a Certificate in Teaching Observation from THE TESOL COLLEGE as an addition to your Diploma in TESOL. There is no additional fee for this Certificate.

You will receive excellent and informative course notes and handouts to give you much more out of your Diploma. These have been developed specifically by us for online study for this Diploma, with comprehensive linkages to authoritative sources. You will also access our selection of videos of teachers delivering lessons, and you will be able to combine the theory of the approaches, methodologies and principles of language teaching learned on the course with what you see in these videos. This is extremely useful, it also gives you an appreciation of teaching and classroom management issues. Completing observations of teaching in the video content to a satisfactory standard will lead to the Certificate in Teaching Observation from THE TESOL COLLEGE as an addition to your Diploma in TESOL; there is no additional fee.
There are also short, non-assessed written mini tasks in the course notes to complete in each module. These are designed by us to ensure you gain as much as possible in your understanding of the course. Your tutor gives you feedback on your mini tasks.
You will receive our 51-page Grammar Notes for any background help you might need in the grammar of the language.
ASSESSMENT AND GRADING
Assessment is by written assignments, two for each of the four modules. You will receive detailed and timely feedback on each submission from your tutor. If your assignment needs to be improved, your tutor will make helpful suggestions. You can submit each assignment up to three times without further payment. After the third attempt, if your work is still below the pass grade of C, a small charge will be made to cover the additional administrative cost of marking your work.
GRADE A, PASS WITH DISTINCTION
The trainee teacher has demonstrated considerable further reading, an ability to express original thinking and has proved to have a sound knowledge of TESOL techniques. The trainee teacher has also indicated an attitude and ability to be able to soundly develop these techniques in teaching.
GRADE B, PASS WITH CREDIT
The trainee teacher has read more widely than the course requires and is able to relate the theoretical issues studied to teaching.
GRADE C, PASS
The trainee teacher has passed the course satisfactorily, has reached an adequate standard in each of the modules and has shown assimiation of the basic elements of TESOL.
This is the same as the course fee for taking the Diploma directly from London Teacher Training College, British Pounds (GBP)355 and GST/VAT does not apply.
The course fee includes full course notes, high quality handouts, distance tutoring, assignment feedback and recommending of module grades to London Teacher Training College, the TQUK Level 7 Diploma registration, your Diploma scroll and transcript from London Teacher Training College, dispatch of these to your address, and all administration costs. The GBP355 also includes your option to take our additional Certificate in Teaching Observation short course.
There is an option to pay by two payments, the first being £75 covering Module 1, the first of the four modules, the second payment of £280 covering Modules 2, 3, 4 and the TQUK Level 7 Diploma registration.
On receiving payment, we issue a receipt, then scan and email this to you. An invoice can be issued if requested.
From when your course fee payment is received by us there is a 14-day cooling-off period in which you are eligible to receive a FULL 100% refund of your payment.
APPLICATION, CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
You have a right to cancel your application by email for 14 days from us receiving your fee payment whereupon 100% of any course fees paid will be refunded. This is a ‘cooling down’ period.
This cancellation/refund policy complies with the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, which came
into effect on 13 June 2014, implementing the Consumer Rights Directive in UK law. The
regulations apply to items bought online, at a distance, or away from a trader’s premises (for
example, at home or at work).
We refund 100% of your course fees if London Teacher Training College has not received all your assignments from us with our recommendations for module grades within 30 days of receipt of the last assignment from you.
